The purpose of this workshop is to increase knowledge of how young people and their families are affected by Stop & Search, give you confidence to have conversations with young people and their families about how being stopped and searched by police might impact them and to provide the appropriate support through screening, advice, interventions and signposting. The training will include awareness on a young person’s rights during a police stop and search and the support available to empower parents/carers to support their young people.
We will be using the following agenda for the workshop:
- 18:00 - TEAMS arrival, settle in and introductions.
- 18:05 - Intro by Police & LBWF Youth At Risk Service.
- 18:10 – SPARK2LIFE commences with their PowerPoint presentation explaining their work, details on the issues of concern and how to respond/access support.
- 19:00 - Q&A session – shared professional experiences.
- 19:30 - Conclusion of workshop - END.
