Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

On Sunday 24 September the Labour Party Conference arrives in Brighton.

We are ready with an important message for the Labour leadership, MPs and delegates. The people are speaking and we say no to Brexit!

Join us for our march and rally, and for our evening event at the Dome (doors open at 6.15pm, programme 7pm-10pm) - tickets available at http://bit.ly/2w4JKpu

The right side of history

The 2016 referendum was not a ‘win’. A decision on the rights of millions of people was taken by only 37% of eligible voters. Many arguments were incorrect, speculation or in many cases outright lies made to get the vote over the line.

Join us to tell Labour that we support minorities, internationalism and human rights!

Brexit means austerity

Brexit is being used to justify more huge cuts to public services, extreme deregulation and slashing of rights and protections. Brexit is estimated to cost billions in lost tax revenue.

Join us to tell Labour that Brexit means austerity!

Brexit means losing votes

More than 80% of Labour members want the UK to remain in the single market with the freedom of movement that it brings. Labour performed significantly better in the 2017 general election in high remain areas with large numbers of people voting tactically against the Brexit fiasco.

Join us to tell Labour that a vote for Labour is not a vote for Brexit!

March and rally

We will march through Brighton and Hove from 1pm, defiantly waving European flags and banners of all colours and hues. We will march past the Labour Party Conference, making as much noise as is humanly possible. We will march along the seafront to Hove Lawns, where we will hold a rally with speakers including: Richard Corbett MEP; Mike Galsworthy (Scientists for EU); our local MPs Peter Kyle, Caroline Lucas and Lloyd Russell Moyle; NHS campaigner Joan Pons La Plana; Elena Remigi (founder/project lead of "In Limbo: Our Brexit Testimonies"); and Vicar of Firle and TV presenter Peter Owen Jones.

Assembly at The Level from 12.30pm - march begins at 1pm.

Coming by train? - Route from Brighton station to The Level:

Walk underneath the station concourse arches down Trafalgar Street. At the bottom, walk around St Peter's church and turn left along Richmond Terrace. You will see The Level ahead. We will have marshals to direct people from the station.
