Description

Stop Messin’ About! Celebrating the Life and Career of Kenneth Williams: 30 Years On

An afternoon to celebrate the life and career of Kenneth Williams, exactly 30 years to the day that he passed away. 2018 marks not only the 30th anniversary of Kenneth’s death but also the release of the first, and only, definitive book on his career, The Kenneth Williams Companion.

At this exclusive event, not only will the book be launched but there will be a Q & A session, hosted by Morris Bright MBE, with a number of Kenneth’s friends and colleagues to remember the genius. Those confirmed on the panel are Nicholas Parsons CBE, Nanette Newman, Barry Cryer OBE, Lorraine Chase and Jeremy Swan. There will also be an opportunity to see and hear rare archival footage from Kenneth’s forty-year career, presented by the author, and a chance to network.

This year is also the 60th Anniversary since the Carry On film series made its debut, of which Kenneth made the most number of appearances.

Spanning 700 pages, The Kenneth Williams Companion is the first, and only, definitive book on the career of Kenneth Williams. The book details all his stage, radio, TV, recordings and film work as a chronology. With fascinating facts, memories, many from people who haven't spoken before, and information, this book is everything you ever needed to know about the career of one of Britain's greatest comedy actors.

Light refreshments will be provided and there will be a cash bar.

Admission by ticket only.

*All celebrity guests appear subject to availability.
