The Labour leadership election is over but the Labour Party machine's attacks on democracy and on members' rights continue. Many thousands remain suspended or expelled, with no idea when, how or if their appeals will be heard. Meanwhile local parties including Brighton, Hove and District Labour Party and Wallasey CLP remain suspended.
Broxtowe CLP in Nottingham is working with the local Momentum groups to host a national conference with Stop the Labour Purge. The conference will bring together activists from CLPs, Momentum groups and other labour movement organisations from around the country, to discuss and organise winning reinstatement for targeted members and challenging the Labour bureaucracy to establish due process, accountability and democracy in our party.
All Labour Party members and supporters who want to oppose the purge are welcome, but we are asking organisations to formally support the conference and send representatives.
The conference is supported by people including
Ronnie Draper, BFAWU general secretary who was suspended and reinstated
Hibaq Jama, suspended Bristol councillor
Mark Sandell, elected chair of suspended Brighton District Labour Party
Pete Radcliff, expelled chair of Broxtowe CLP
Pamela Fitzpatrick, suspended and reinstated Harrow councillor
