This HELM training course on Stopping the Rot will provide specialist training for Local Authority staff working in planning, conservation, development control and legal departments. Expert speakers from Historic England and sector specialists will outline the legal framework for enforcement and help you to assess where action needs to be taken and which approach is most appropriate. It will introduce you to informal procedures or negotiation techniques to achieve a positive outcome for heritage. Participants will have the opportunity to question speakers throughout the day and raise current casework issues from their own area.
