Description

The Inverness Townscape Heritage Team invite you to join them to hear more about the legendary Alexander “Battan” Grant. In this talk, Dr Sinclair Gair will bring to life the stories and music of “Battan”, who was known for his superb fiddling and composing, as well as the design & construction of stringed instruments. A selection of his tools and artefacts from the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery will be on display.

There will be a traditional music session after the talk to showcase the living legacy of Battan, with Bruce MacGregor and friends, in MacGregor’s Bar, Academy Street, Inverness.

This event is free however booking is essential and places are limited.
