Event description

Description

Middle England has a hidden landscape of myths and legend of giants, witches, faeries and other strange mythical things but of these ancient stories, what do they tell us of our past? Dreaming tales that were born in the wilderness and in wild places of the Midshires that complement those traditional stories that underlie the industrial heartland of this rich and diverse region.

Strange stories will be shared, of human and supernatural tussle over the boundaries, a pompous man deflated, of drowned brides and lots more. So why not come along and let storytellers Cath Edwards and Sharon Carr entertain you to an evening of magical and mythical stories from Middle England.

Cath Edwards manages Lichfield Storytellers, also known as Tales in the Courtyard, and performs regularly at festivals, museums and libraries. She has a warm and witty way of telling stories, and her current tales are influenced by the book of folktales she's currently writing for The History Press.

Sharon Carr has been a Midlands dweller, originally from Canada. She loves telling tales that are earthy, humorous and dark, and traces her love of storytelling back to family stories told by her Welsh mother. Sharon has been one of the resident storytellers at Birmingham Storytelling Cafe since 2012.
