Where do we meet?

At the island inside Key Hill cemetery, Icknield St gate A4540  almost facing Park St. 
From Vyse Street, walk down Pitsford St, turn right into Icknield Street, under the railway bridge. 
Not to be confused with Warstone Lane cemetery that also has an entrance in Icknield St. See image of map.

Are there any parking facilities nearby?

There is a multi- storey car park in Vyse Street, almost facing Pitsford Street.

How do I get to the  Birmingham Jewellery Quarter?

Accepted Answer

Both the Train and Tram: stop at the Jewellery Quarter Station in Vyse Street , Hockley. Bus: 8a, 8c and 101 from Birmingham city centre to Chamberlain clock at Warstone Lane walk to Vyse Street, also 16 &74 to Great Hampton Street. Car : Multi-storey car park in Vyse Street.

What facilities are there in the cemetery or nearby?

There are not any toilet facilities in either Warstone Lane cemetery or neighbouring Key Hill cemetery. There are several cafes and bars nearby. Porta loos are hired for special open days & Heritage open days in the cemetery.

Do you make a profit from the tours?

Accepted Answer

All revenue from cemetery guided tours, catacomb guided tours , membership, plus donations and sales at open days and history fairs goes towards the repair of damaged and broken graves. All of the Friends are volunteers who also care for the cemeteries.

Is there a break in-between tours?

Accepted Answer

No, If you have booked BOTH cemetery tours, Warstone Lane tour is 12 noon-1.45pm walking straight to neighbouring Key Hill cemetery 2pm-3.45pm. Tours may take longer depending on Q & A

Can you find a grave/ plot number?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can assist. Contact the Friends website www.fkwc.org Should you require to find the location of a family grave this is unlikely to be achieved before, during , or after a guided tour. With prior notice the Friends may be able to arrange for you to meet a volunteer on a separate day.

Does Key Hill  cemetery tour include viewing inside the catacombs?

Accepted Answer

Key Hill tour includes the history of the catacombs but does not include viewing the interior of catacombs. Interior catacomb tours are occasional events and advertised on website Eventbrite -wise to click "Follow" on the Eventbrite page or www.fkwc.org

Sorry no refunds, should you wish to cancel your ticket for another date for any reason please note we require 7 days notice to allow time to resell your ticket.
