Train & Tram stop J Q Rail Station in Vyse St . Bus 8a, 8c & 101 from B'ham city centre to Chamberlain clock at Warstone Ln, walk to Vyse St, Bus 16 &74 to Grt Hampton St. Car  park in Vyse St.
From Vyse St walk down Pitsford St,  turn right to Icknield St   to Key Hill gate

What is the duration of Key Hill cemetery tour?

Accepted Answer

Duration  of Key Hill cemetery tour is about one and half to two hours depending on Q & A 
The same applies to Warstone Lane cemetery tour. 
 Each cemetery tour requires booking separately.

How do I book a tour for a child under 16 years of age?

Accepted Answer

Children under 16 years, no charge. Please contact the Friends via the website www.fkwc.org to ensure that spaces are available. All Children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult who has purchased a ticket .

Does Key Hill cemetery tour include viewing inside the  Key Hill catacombs?

Accepted Answer

Key Hill cemetery tour includes the history of the catacombs but does not include viewing the interior of catacombs. Interior catacomb tours are occasional events and advertised on website Eventbrite -wise to click "Follow" on the Eventbrite page or www.fkwc.org

When will the catacomb tours be advertised ?

Catacombs tours are rare events. They will be advertised via the Friends website www.fkwc.org and via this site Eventbrite, wise to click " follow" on this Eventbrite page. These tours usually sell out within 24 hours.

What facilities  do you have in the cemetery or nearby?

Accepted Answer

There are not any toilet facilities in either Key Hill cemetery or neighbouring   Warstone Lane cemetery.  
 There are several cafes and bars nearby. A porta loo is hired for special events and heritage open days in the cemetery

Is there a break in-between tours?

Accepted Answer

No, If you have booked both cemetery tours Warstone Lane tour is 12 noon-1.45pm walking straight to neighbouring Key Hill cemetery 2pm-3.45pm. Tours may take longer depending on Q & A . Both tours require booking separately.

No sorry, should you wish to cancel your ticket for another date for any reason please note we require 7 days notice to allow time to resell your ticket.

Do you make a profit from the tours?

Accepted Answer

The Friends are a non profit voluntary group, all revenue from cemetery guided tours, catacomb guided tours , membership, plus donations and sales at open days and history fairs pay for damaged and broken graves. All of the Friends are volunteers who also care for the cemeteries.

Can you find a grave/ plot number?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can assist. Contact the Friends www.fkwc.org 
Should you require to find the location of a family grave this is unlikely to be achieved before, during , or after a tour. 
With prior notice the Friends may be able to arrange for you to meet a volunteer on a separate day.
