Event description
A journey through the winter constellations of the Northern Hemisphere, with storytelling and a touch of science.

About this Event

Looking at the evening sky after sunset for a mid-European latitude, you might notice Orion rising in the East to chase the Pleaides. Mars shines red between Pisces and Aries, so does the red supergiant Betelgeuse and the orange giant Aldebaran. The latter in Taurus is also Nanuk, the polar bear, fleeing from the Runners in a cosmic chase that repeats everynight. The distinctive W shape of Cassiopea shines high abovehead. To the North is the Big Dipper, part of the constellation of the Great Bear, also known as the Seven Rishis, the Seven Wise Men, in India, or the Fisher for the Anishinabe people of North Eastern America.

Join us for an hour's journey through the winter constellations of the Northern Hemisphere, with a mix of astronomy and tales from different cultural perspectives.
