“Stories That Made Me Who I Am” by Andrew Henry Smith
This is a workshop for those starting off in poetry and those more advanced and pursuing self-development through writing. The source for our writing material is from an area in which you are the world’s foremost expert - your own life.
Be prepared to reveal a little of yourself, have some fun, share with others and hopefully enjoy the process. Please bring along some writing materials though I will have some for anyone who is without and would like to take part.
Through the process of undertaking this work, through reflection and honest appraisal we can develop as people and poets. This process develops a stronger sense of self, of who we are and it is through this process that we gain confidence and a stronger poetic voice - and begin to understand that the real subject of poetry is the inner life of the poet.
Andrew Henry Smith is a member of Stevenage Survivors poetry and Hertfordshire Poetry as Healing.
