About this event

Cromarty’s links to enslavement and colonialism

Looking back at life in the Victorian Highlands, this tour will explore stories about trade and travel, the migration of people, and movement of ideas, and how these shaped regions across the world. The walk will discuss how links between Scotland and colonies around the world were built on trade and through this, to chattel enslavement.

The Cromarty Story Walks have been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players.
