This course offers insight into a crucial stage in the early development of film, tv and other projects.
How do the imaginative sparks captured in the words of a writer become moving images?
What are the challenges that the storyboard artist faces in translating ideas from a director's mind onto paper?
How is a storyboard frame different from a singular illustration, and how can you tailor your creativity accordingly?

A conceptual understanding of the unique creative process that occurs between the director and the storyboard artist.
A practical understanding of the preparation, development & completion of storyboards to a finished level ready for filming.
This course benefits from Mike Nicholson's 20 year + career in creating professional storyboards for film projects from advertising campaigns to award-winning TV comedy to movies. It will cover essential principles and offer rare insights into the unique process between director and storyboard artist, as well as adaptable suggestions as to how visual style and consistency can be achieved.
