Why should I volunteer?

Volunteering will give you rewarding opportunities: from supporting your local community; continued learning and development (through peer support and online or in person training); friendship & connections; boosting self confidence; and shared experiences through oral history & telling of stories

How often will I be expected to volunteer?

We recommend that you volunteer at least once per term and attend as many Storytelling Circles as you can.

Will I have to find my own volunteer events/venues?

No, you will be supported by AVCM Family Befriender, you can email familybefriender@yahoo.com

How much does it cost?

The project is being funded by Culture in Common for its first year. During this time all workshops, ongoing learning and Storytelling Circles will be free of charge.

I'm not very confident & I can't remember the words!

Dont panic! Everyone is welcome, as long as you have the enthusiasm, then we can help with the rest!
