Women of the Wick is excited to launch our next Storytelling for Creatives: Journalism 101 Masterclass

Join us for a practice-led masterclass to learn tools on how freelance journalism can be beneficial for artists and creative entrepreneurs, how to pitch your story to the press and brainstorm your own ideas. By learning tools on how to tell and write our own narratives, we can take control of our experiences.
The masterclass is led by Lateefah Jean-Baptiste, a freelance journalist and PR professional from London and the founder of Career Girl Collective, a platform that aims to empower and educate women writers.
Lateefah's articles have been published in magazines such as Business Insider, The Independent, Metro UK, iNews, Cosmopolitan, Refinery29, HuffPost, Bustle, Gal-dem, The Face and The Voice Newspaper.
During this 1-hour jam-packed masterclass, we will go through:
- Freelancing statistics
- How freelancing can be benefit your creative practice
- The importance of story-telling
- How to pitch personal essays/stories to the press
- Contacts at National and Art newspapers/magazines
- Things to consider when freelancing
- The pros and cons of freelancing
