About this event

Arts • Literary Arts

Storytime is London's weekly story-telling night. It is a night for story-tellers, writers and poets to share their stories.

It is curated by local writer Adam RW and the Storytime collective.

We are back and we are now weekly. Our first night of the autumn will be hosted by Adam RW on Thursday 18 September at the Enid Street Tavern.

Collective Line-Up

We will have collective sets from Sarah Dungworth, Louis Scantlebury, Sam Humphries and our new resident...

Music

We will have an acoustic set from the wonderful Tears at the Table at the beginning of the second half.

Open Mic

The open mic will run through the night with names pulled from the hat as always.

There will be 1 open mic slot in the first half and 2 in the second half.

You will have 8 minutes if your name is pulled out.

Our open mic performers are a very important part of our night so slots are now paid - if your name is pulled out, you will have your ticket refunded, be paid £10 cash, and get a free drink.

Ticket Breakdown

Our tickets are now £8 plus Eventbrite fees. We have regrettably had to increase our prices to run the nights more sustainably - but we like to give you, our beloved collective, full transparency about where your ticket goes. Your £8 is split as follows:

£2.50 to the readers/open mic-ers - our readers will always take the biggest chunk from the Storytime tickets as they are the ones who make the night.

£2 to the host and door/admin team

£1.50 to the photographers/visual team

£2 to Storytime

This is calculated on the basis that we close to sell out. If we don't, it's Storytime that takes the hit - not our wonderful readers and performers.

Frequently asked questions

Where is it?

Downstairs at the Enid Street Tavern on Enid Street — about a ten minute walk from Bermondsey tube or a fifteen minute walk from London Bridge station.

What is it?

Storytime is a space for longer-form spoken word - short stories, personal stories, tale-telling of all types and varieties. Poets and poetry are of course very welcome but we have more of a focus on story-telling, short fiction and prose.

When is it?

Thursday 18 September 2025. Doors 6.30pm. Start time 7.30pm.

How does the open mic work?

We pull names out of the hat throughout the night to decide who gets to read. Open mic-ers get 8 minutes each and there will be 3 spots across the night.
