Frequently asked questions

Does my child need to have a diagnosis to attend?

No, they don't. If you are currently going through the diagnosis process or strongly suspect your child is autistic, you are very welcome to come along.

Can I attend if my child is neurodivergent but not autistic?

Yes, absolutely, if you think it will help. My experience is with autism but I'm happy to discuss strategies for ADHD etc, please just don't expect me to have "lived" experience or to be an expert.

I’m Wendy a Scottish “giril” (girl) living in Mid-Sussex as a solo Mum of two neurodivergent teenagers (one autistic and the other dyslexic with sensory processing issues). I use my background in training and development, my skills as a life coach and complementary therapist of 20-plus years and my experiences as a Mum, to mentor Mums of autistic kids. I live this life so I really understand the challenges it can bring, can suggest practical steps to help and can give hope to those who are struggling.

My autistic son has successfully started at mainstream sixth-form college. This from a boy who used to run out of the classroom in Year 1, was academically behind and everyone expected him to be at a specialised school by the time he finished primary! He couldn’t have achieved this without a huge amount of understanding, support and guidance from me and encouragement from his schools. I worked closely and collaboratively with the SEN teams and teachers to enable this to happen.

I offer One-to-one Mentoring and Coaching Immersions, Group Coaching and Mentoring, workshops and webinars in person in Ardingly, West Sussex and via Zoom/Skype.

When I’m not working with my amazing clients I can be found enjoying salsa dancing, Pilates, meditating, reading, quality time with my friends and family and having adventures with my kids.
