Event description

Description

The Strategic Assessment (SA) is a statutory requirement for community safety partnerships as outlined in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The aim of the SA is to provide an account of long-term issues and threats from crime and anti-social behaviour that generate harm in local communities.

It is the evidence base that supports the community safety agreement, local authority partnership plans, the Police and Crime Commissioner's policing and crime plan and the Constabulary control strategy.

The SA is the result of 6-months research, analysis, engagement and consultation with stakeholders, community safety partner agencies and all 14 local authorities. The process commences with this conference to consult and engage with key partners, stakeholders, and end-users.

This event will present the findings and conclusions from current research and the Living in Lancashire survey. It will also run table-top sessions to draw on the knowledge and experience of attendees – this will be used to design and develop SA research activity and local workshops.

This event will be essential for those involved in community safety and partnership work.

Please note refreshments will be available from 9.00am and the event will commence at 9.30am.

There is limited free parking available. The Gujarat Centre is a short walk from Preston train station, and can be easily accessed from either of Preston's Park and Ride sites.
