Event description

Description

Please note* This event is open to HPMA London Academy Members and is not for comercial members

We are looking forward to this fifth network meeting of this new network, aimed at those HR and OD practitioners in senior strategic roles (who do not currently participate in other networks such as the Directors, Deputies or the L&OD network), namely HR Business Partners, Heads of Service in HR, L&D and OD. We encourage people who've attended previous meetings to come again but it is also open to new members who haven't attended a previous meeting. As places are limited to 50, we invite each Trust to send one representative, but not more than two unless there are lots of spaces left.

If you book on the meeting, please ensure you can come for the whole day until 4.30pm, otherwise you're taking a place when someone else could benefit from the whole session and it's fair to prioritise places for those who can participate in the whole day.

The next meeting will cover four key areas:

- A keynote speaker will give their perspective on the challenges and opportunities network member organisations face in delivering Sustainability and Transformation Plans across the system

- Focus on strategic recruitment with a panel of speakers from NHS Employers, unions, a legal perspective and group discussion on:

  • What does current workforce supply look like
  • What’s affecting it and will affect it (include impact of Brexit)
  • What can we do about it? Including what’s being done at national level, as well as what we can do at trust level

- Developing HR and OD career pathways for ourselves and our teams

- What keeps you awake at night? An opportunity to work on one of your knotty problems with colleagues

- How diversity supports delivery of the Five Year Forward Plan and what the network can do?

With renowned and provocative speaker SImon Fanshawe. Simon Fanshawe co-founded Stonewall, is a well known speaker on diversity and inclusion and is also a comedian, regularly speaking on the radio and TV. He has been researching diversity in NHS trusts and we look forward to working with him at this network session.
