Description

This session aims to help doctoral students prepare for navigating the challenges that undertaking a doctorate presents.

This course will:

  • explore the key challenges that a doctorate presents.
  • review the typical mistakes made by doctoral students (including those made by the course leader, Dr Karl M. Smith).
  • discuss short-cuts and strategies for successfully undertaking and completing a Doctorate.

After attending the participants will:

  • have an enhanced appreciation of what to prioritise to attain success in a Doctorate.
  • have an improved understanding of the various challenges that a Doctorate can present and what strategies can be employed to manage them.
  • be more aware that a Doctorate need not be a lone battle.

Who should attend: This session is for PGR 1, 2 but students at all stages of their doctorate are welcome .
