Aims and Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to have a sound applied knowledge on contemporary Clinical Endodontics techniques with the employment of evidence-based approach.

To provide a valuable insight into Continuous and Reciprocating Endodontic file systems.

Practical tips on how to effectively use both Protaper Next and WaveOne Gold systems

The Learning outcomes include:

• Learning about the new technologies behind Rotary Endodontics. Understanding how to use the rotary files to prepare the canals efficiently and effectively.

• Tailored hands-on training to help participants successfully and predictably apply Rotary Endodontics in practice (There will be an opportunity to use operating microscopes)

• Learning to perform the root canal treatment procedures by following the clinical guidelines specified on this course

• Learning about the importance of coronal seal as well as apical seal during the root canal treatment and after the treatment- When do we need extra-coronal restorations?


Speaker: Dr Aylin Baysan BDS MSc PhD MFDS RCSEd SFHEA FRSA

Dr Baysan is currently a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Dentistry within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. She is the sole lead for the undergraduate Endodontics programme at the Dental School. Dr Baysan is responsible for delivering lectures, and organising and leading clinical skills-based technical courses related to this speciality. She also co-ordinates the clinical teaching staff on the undergraduate endodontics programme, and lead on various assessments (student self-assessments, written, oral, practical gateway tests) in Endodontics.
