Experienced at talking with farmers; IfA’s livestock team and Cliffe Farm Animal Vets will be

on-hand to explain to you, in plain terms, what antibiotic resistance actually means and why there is a demand on the industry to reduce the use of antibiotics in livestock.

We will highlight the reduction targets that have been set for the beef sector, and provide you with practical and achievable tips that can help to prevent disease, save time and money on your farm.

This workshop will focus on three key areas:

Antibiotics

  • The different classes of antibiotics and which ones are classified as critically important

Prevention

  • Preventing calf scours and pneumonia

Sensor technologies for early disease detection

  • Want to be able to detect disease before it becomes a clinical case?
  • Latest technologies and their benefit in identifying early signs of disease
