FAQs

Where will the event take place?

We have partnered with D&AD who have brand new offices just off of Brick Lane in East London. You'll have a chance to wander this popular street and surrounding area with its diverse cultures, grafitti, independent shops, and wide variety of street food market stalls. There's a great buzz for street shooting and Sundays are the most popular day so never a dull moment day or night. The building has been architecturally designed inside with stunning multifunctional spaces and facilities. D&AD is a well-known non-profit design association inspiring the next generation of creative talent and stimulating the creative industry to work towards a fairer more sustainable future.

What is the schedule?

We will have a welcome evening drinks on the Friday evening to meet everyone and register. A small group will join Dougie Wallace on a night walk photoshoot. Please note you must be registered for the weekend event to take part in the Night Shoot with Dougie. The weekend will include a series of talks with a list of renowned speakers, panel discussions, and competition with a party on Saturday night. Beigels (bagels to the Americans) breakfast will start the mornings off.

Is this anything do to with the London Street Photography Symposium from last year?

Yes, this is a continuation of last year's event founded originally by Jason Reed and rebrand led by Hoxton Mini Press. Jason Reed and Nick Turpin are co-Creative Directors ensuring a rewarding schedule of speakers and activities.

Who are Hoxton Mini Press?

They are small indie arts publisher dedicated to London contemporary photography. They have a small, award-winning team working with great photographers (including Dougie Wallace, Nick Turpin, Zed Nelson, David Campany and writer Sophie Howarth (of 'Street Photography Now') and have a special interest in urban street photography.

Is this anything do with the London Street Photography Festival that is happening a week later in 2017?

No, this is an entirely separate event. Even though this ran last year successfully with a full crowd, the LSP festival was set up without our knowledge when we had already laid the ground work for this one. We hope that is sucessful and that people can go to both.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please write to Kristen on info@streetlondon.co.uk

Will tickets include food and drink?

We expect we will include a welcome drink on Friday and a relaxed meal on Saturday evening. East London has a vibrant street food scene that we'd like everyone to experience but we'd also like to keep everyone together!

What's the refund policy?

We are reasonable but also have to plan in advance for our venue and other costs. Feel free to transfer tickets to other street photographers if you can't make it but let us know in advance. If you cancel before 18 July, 2017 we'll refund your money in full but any later makes things difficult. Between 19 July and 3 August, 50% refund and afterwards no refund will be issued. In the event of changes to the event beyond our control (ie a speaker cancelling for personal reasons), we cannot issue refunds but will do our best to ensure that the quality of the the line up and presentations are not compromised. We recommend that everyone has their own suitable travel insurance.
