STREET LONDON 2017
Fri, 18 Aug 2017, 18:30 – Sun, 20 Aug 2017, 17:00 BST
Hoxton Mini Press, the renowned East London publisher, joins iN-Public’s Nick Turpin and Observe Collective’s Jason Reed to create an unrivalled gathering in the world’s capital of street photography. Come join us. We will be based in East London. Venue and event details to be announced.
What do I get for the Early Bird Ticket?
The early bird ticket will get you FULL ACCESS to all events, drinks and food. It will be considerably cheaper than the main ticket as recompense for your trust in us to make this a truly fantastic event. The early bird tickets will run out after the first 50 tickets are sold. The rate rewards people who take a risk and commit with confidence that we will deliver an engaging event over the weekend without needing to know all the details in advance.
Where will the event take place?
We are looking at a number of large beautiful spaces in the heart of East London and will announce the venue soon. Rest assured, it will be a stunning space and near a lot of shooting opportunities.
What is the schedule?
The details of the schedule are to be announced shortly but expect a welcoming party on the Friday evening, a series of talks with a list of renowned speakers, panel discussions and workshops on the Saturday and Sunday.
Is this anything do to with the London Street Photography Symposium from last year?
Yes, this is a continuation of last year's event founded originally by Jason Reed and rebrand led by Hoxton Mini Press. Jason Reed and Nick Turpin are co-Creative Directors ensuring a rewarding schedule of speakers and activities.
Who is Hoxton Mini Press?
They are small indie arts publisher dedicated to London contemporary photography. They have a small, award-winning team working with great photographers (including Dougie Wallace, Nick Turpin, Zed Nelson, David Campany and writer Sophie Howarth (of 'Street Photography Now')) and have a special interest in urban street photography.
Is this anything do with the London Street Photography Festival that is happening a week later in 2017?
No, this is an entirely separate event. Even though this ran last year successfully with a full crowd, the LSP festival was set up without our knowledge when we had already laid the ground work for this one. We hope that is sucessful and that people can go to both.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Please write to Kristen on email@example.com
What is the standard ticket price and what is the difference between tickets?
We have tiered the tickets on 3 levels to encourage people to plan ahead. They will all provide access to the full weekend of events. The first 50 people will pay the Early Bird rate of £100; the second 50 tickets sold will be at £125; and the last 50 tickets will be full price tickets at £150 inc VAT.
Will tickets include food and drink?
We expect we will include a welcome drink on Friday and a relaxed meal on Saturday evening but this is to be confirmed in due course. East London has a vibrant street food scene that we'd like everyone to experience but we'd also like to keep everyone together so we'll keep you posted!
What's the refund policy?
We are reasonable but also have to plan in advance for our venue and other costs. Feel free to transfer tickets to other street photographers if you can't make it but let us know in advance. If you cancel before 18 July, 2017 we'll refund your money in full but any later makes things difficult. Between 19 July and 3 August, 50% refund and afterwards no refund will be issued. In the event of changes to the event beyond our control (ie a speaker cancelling for personal reasons), we cannot issue refunds but will do our best to ensure that the quality of the the line up and presentations are not compromised. We recommend that everyone has their own suitable travel insurance.
How many people can attend?
We expect +/- 150. To be confirmed based on venue capacity.
