Overview
Place-based impact investment is gaining momentum as a powerful driver of inclusive local growth across the UK. Recent policy developments signal unprecedented government support for this approach. The Fit for the Future consultation and revised Industrial Strategy emphasise localised solutions to complex challenges, while the creation of the Social Impact Investment Advisory Group by HM Treasury demonstrates clear public sector commitment to partnering with impact capital in delivering the government's missions.
This momentum creates a pivotal moment for the place-based impact investment movement. However, a critical gap remains: local government often lacks the awareness and capacity needed to effectively channel impact capital toward their most pressing challenges.
Why attend?
This Place Coalition gathering will tackle that challenge head-on. Through dynamic panel discussions and collaborative breakout sessions, participants will:
- Identify the key barriers preventing local government from fully engaging with place-based impact investment
- Develop practical strategies to overcome these obstacles
- Create actionable guidance for place leaders and impact investors
The insights generated will shape the future direction of the movement, helping stakeholders across all UK regions build the enabling environment needed for place-based impact investment to flourish. Together, we'll explore how to turn policy momentum into local action, ensuring every community can harness the transformative power of impact capital.
If you are unable to attend, we welcome you to extend this invitation to a colleague. We hope to see you there.
