Resilience – the capacity to bounce back from difficult challenges.

The last two years have brought us many different challenges, we have made our way though doing the best we can, initially we maybe thought it would last a couple of months and here we are 2 years on still navigating different terrains and doing the best we can. We all have levels of resilience to be able to handle and bounce back from difficult challenges but they have been tested and sometimes to the limit, we may have found ourselves feeling more stressed than usual, a little low, tired and even conditioned to finding new ways regularly to do things. We all know how important our wellbeing is both at home and at work but how often do we do something about it? Sometimes that might be taking time to step off the treadmill and have time to think, to remind ourselves of our powerful strategies, to learn new techniques that can make life a little easier and give ourselves a pat on the back for getting through this storm and refresh for what comes next.

Typically the early warning signs of reduced resilience are:

• Lack of focus

• Pessimism

• Uncharacteristically negative

• Reduction in interaction with others

• Productivity decreases or mistakes made

• Lack of structure – maybe hard to get going or not stopping

The Workshop

The 90-minute interactive virtual workshop offers techniques to enhance personal resilience by focusing on the key elements of resilience and well-established cognitive behavioural principles.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Increase self awareness by building knowledge of Emotional Intelligence

• Focus energy on things that can be controlled and let go of things to retain perspective

• Use strategies to improve mindset choices to broaden thought actions

• Apply positive coping strategies to manage/reduce negative emotions
