A personal development course for all healthcare workers to become Stress Management Trainers in their organisations.

About this Event

Stress is a well-recognised cause of many chronic physical health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure as well as mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. Understanding the warning signs of stress on our physical and emotional health and taking active steps to manage our stress levels could prevent long term health consequences.

According to the 2018/19 HSE Labour Force Survey, Stress, Depression or Anxiety account for 21% of work-related sickness in the UK. This is equivalent to 12.8 million working days lost.Learning objectives:

1. To understand Stress Mechanism and its long-term consequences

2. To learn about the types of Stress and its Predisposing factors

3. Identifying Stress at Work – Conflict at work, Time Management, Lack of Supervision, Work-Life Balance and other factors

4. To learn Strategies for managing Stress at Work

5. Managing the psychological impact of COVID at workplace

The British Society of Lifestyle (BSLM) is an independent, evidence-informed, non-profit-making and diverse regulated charitable organisation dedicated to promoting Lifestyle as Medicine as per our mission statement with honesty, transparency and integrity. BSLM is registered as a member of the Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance which has (free) membership for properly constituted Lifestyle Medicine Societies around the world. BSLM has collaborated with the CPD accredited organisation – Mental Health Online Training (MHOT) to provide this one day CPD certified course.

About your Course Facilitator:

Dr Sarmila Sinha, MRCPsych, MSc is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 15 years’ experience in the NHS. She was a health and wellbeing ambassador for doctors within the NHS. She has been a stress management trainer for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She has the knowledge and expertise in stress, its effects and has developed a unique and simple way to manage stress. In her number best-selling book, she has highlighted the impact of stress in our daily lives and has developed the 4C Approach to stress management.

• Identifying & Managing Stress at Work

• Managing stress in difficult communication - Conflict Resolution

• Other evidence based approaches towards stress management including Lifestyle Modification.
