Stretford 'Street Warming' Party

Celebrate the return of King Street with friends, neighbours and a classic Stretford street party – complete with a town crier and plenty of local cheer!

A huge summer ‘streetwarming’ party will take over Stretford town centre to celebrate the completion of King Street. The party will celebrate the reopening of the street allowing residents to walk down an open-air King Street for the first time since 1960’s. The retailers and businesses will start to move into the freshly finished units in the coming weeks and months.

The festival will begin at 11am sharp in true Stretford style with town crier Andy Simpkins, who will deliver the official heralding to mark the occasion.

From 12-6pm, the streetwarming will offer guests a fun-filled day complete with live music, activities and entertainment for the whole family and a whole host of food and drinks from local traders. It’s the perfect place for guests to come together with friends and neighbours to enjoy the newly transformed King Street and Sir Tony Lloyd Square, a vibrant new public space in the heart of Stretford designed for everyone to explore, relax and connect ahead of the retailers opening their doors later this year.
