About this event

Join Project 93 for our monthly "Stroll and Roll" and connect with fellow LGBTQ+ individuals while enjoying the beauty of Staffordshire's outdoors!

We'll be meeting at the Apedale Heritage Centre car park at 11:00 AM on Sunday 24th August 2025. Come along for a lovely walk (or roll if you're a wheelchair user!) around the scenic Apedale Country Park in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

This group provides a safe and inclusive space for our community to connect, share experiences, and enjoy the benefits of physical activity.Feel free to bring your pets, cameras for photography, or binoculars for birdwatching – whatever helps you make the most of your walk! We aim to stay together as a main group, but we understand that different paces are natural; faster walkers will periodically wait for others to rejoin.

After our walk, for those who are interested, there's an option to take a trip on the charming Apedale Valley Light Railway (it should be open!). The website says that the railway operates on Saturdays and Sundays, with trains running regularly until 4 PM. An adult return ticket costs £4.00, or a single is £3.00. For more information on the railway timetable and fares, please visit the Apedale Valley Light Railway website:https://avlr.org.uk/timetable

This event is free to attend, but any donations to Project 93 are greatly appreciated to help us continue our vital work supporting the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities in Staffordshire.

We can't wait to see you there for another fantastic "Stroll and Roll"!

Organized by

Project 93 is a Staffordshire-based charity dedicated to supporting and empowering LGBTQ+ individuals and those affected by HIV.

We provide a safe and inclusive space for our community through a variety of services, including:

  • Counselling: Our LGBTQ+-affirming counsellors offer a safe space to discuss concerns, develop coping strategies, and enhance overall well-being.
  • Support/Social Groups: We connect LGBTQ+ individuals with others in the community through diverse support and social groups, allowing people to share experiences, build friendships, and find a sense of belonging.
  • Trans Mentor Scheme: Our scheme offers peer support, practical guidance, and a safe space to connect with others who understand.
  • Training and Education: We offer LGBTQ+ awareness and allyship training to organisations and businesses, promoting understanding and creating more inclusive environments.
  • Advocacy: We champion the rights and needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and those affected by HIV through advocacy and education.

Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of our community and delivered with empathy, respect, and a commitment to empowerment.

We envision a Staffordshire where LGBTQ+ individuals and those affected by HIV can thrive with resilient mental health, strong connections, and a sense of belonging.
