    Join your native guide for a stravaig* through our unique, beautiful, historic harbour town and discover life as a local.


    Each half day Stromness Stroll starts at the Ferry Terminal and guides you through the flagstone streets of Stromness, stopping in at the Pier Arts Centre and Stromness Museum for 45 minute curatorial tours.

    We will lead you on a three hour walk through the flagstone streets of Stromness, narrating local tales and highlighting our many landmarks, historic happenings and local characters.

    You will enjoy a 45 minute bespoke curatorial tour of the world renowned Pier Arts Centre and multi award winning Stromness Museum, giving you incredible insights into our history, art and culture.

    Did you know Stromness Museum holds the principle maritime, natural history and ethnographic collections for Orkney? Constituted in 1837, it is one of the oldest independent museums’ in the UK.

    The Pier Arts Centre, Orkney’s five star arts venue, has significant 20 and 21 Century modern art on display alongside a changing programme of local, national and international exhibitions.


    We recommend flat comfortable footwear and appropriate clothing for the walk and the weather conditions.
