Video learning playlist - Introduction

A 3 min overview of the purpose of this course – DON’T skip this, it will help you understand how the chapters in the playlist will work for you to ensure sequential learning.

Chapter 1 – Brain Development

25 mins of active learning re: children’s brain development and the impact on brain structures when children experience trauma in any form. This chapter will add to your ‘Five to Thrive’ understanding and includes an excellent description of Dr. Seigel’s’ hand model of the brain.

Chapter 2 – Strong Bodies, Calm Minds

33 mins of learning, tasks, and reflections exploring how self-regulation skills can be supported and influenced by early physical development. You will consider the role of body awareness and sensory nervous systems in grounding children both physically and emotionally.
