Stronger Together Community Pledges and Funding Event
Come along to this special Stronger Together showcase event to find out how you can help improve your local area in Stoke on Trent and celebrate the positive things that are already happening.

Do you want to give something back to your community and help make it a great place to live? Do you want to become more involved in making changes to your area?
There will be plenty of practical ideas, advice and inspiration, as well as find out about the wide range of free support available. There will also be the launch of the city council’s Stronger Together Community Pledges.
• Talk directly to a variety of funders about getting the money you need to kick-start your project
• Meet volunteer groups who can help to deliver your project
• Get help from the Big Lottery to complete funding applications
• Hear from individuals and groups about the work they’re doing across the city
• Access a range of local volunteering and employment opportunities
• Learn about social media with students from Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College
• Speak to city council services that will support community health and wellbeing projects
Who is the event aimed at?
Residents of Stoke on Trent, community organisations, charities, social enterprises, schools and further education settings, health, businesses interested in Corporate Social Responsibility. Anyone interested in volunteering and doing something positive in their community.
Will there be food and drink at the event?
We will be providing tea, coffee or juice throughout the event. After the launch of the community pledges at 11am we will be serving cake. Please note that the cakes may contain nuts.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
No - everyone is welcome
What are my transport/ parking options getting to the event?
There is free parking on Kingsway all day - directly opposite the entrance to the Kings Hall. The venue has full disability access and toilets

Our organisation covers North Staffordshire and Staffordshire as a whole - can I still come along even though the event is in Stoke on Trent?
Yes! We appreciate that many organisations can cover a wider geographical area as well as Stoke on Trent.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes - that's fine
How many people can attend from our organisation?
As many as you like!
Do I have to attend the whole event
No. The pledges will be launched at 10am along with some showcases from some of our most active groups but if you can't attend at the start please come along at whatever time you can make it.
Do I have to book an appointment with the funders.
The only workshops that you need to book onto are with the Big Lottery - please contact the Local Matters Team on 01782 237869/ 07766 603866 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Otherwise please chat to the funders on the day - they are there to help you and really want to hear about your future project.
What are social action providers?
These could be local businesses or an orgaisantion that supports young people such as The Prince's Trust but they all want to be more involved in the community and can help you by providing volunteer support.
