About this Event

SMALL ISLAND by ANDREA LEVY

AN OPEN BOOK GROUP

Thursday 30th April, 7-9pm

Special Guests: Rachel Joyce

Nikesh Shukla

Chaired By: Caroline Sanderson

In association with the BBC’s “100 Novels That Shaped the World” strand, Stroud Library presents a very special open book group event in celebration of the late Andrea Levy’s multi-award-winning novel, “Small Island”.

We are delighted to welcome acclaimed novelists Rachel Joyce and Nikesh Shukla – both huge admirers of “Small Island” – to discuss this extraordinary book, in conversation with writer and Stroud Book Festival Artistic Director, Caroline Sanderson.

We invite you to join our book group conversation, and share your own thoughts on “Small Island” and the writing of Andrea Levy.

As part of the evening, Rachel and Nikesh will also treat us to sneak preview readings from the own forthcoming books. Rachel will read from her new novel, “Miss Benson’s Beetle” (out in June) and Nikesh from his new memoir, “Brown Baby” (out in September).
