NICKY HARVERSON - Life’s a journey, enjoy the ride! (10.20am - 10.50am)

Nicky is a wellbeing coach, working with her clients to support them to Live Fit.

Living Fit is not just a physical feeling it’s a state of mind, It’s about feeling satisfied with the way things are in the moment yet curious about new challenges and adventures. It's about being active and taking chances to get out of your head and into your body. Living Fit is knowing you are enough right now and believing in yourself to take inspired action towards your goals and dreams.

With 15+ years experience working, managing and leading within IBM, Nicky experienced the struggles of living fit first hand. Giving her a good understanding of how a balanced approach to leading and working not only in business but also in life is essential to success.

Nicky challenges herself to put as much life in her day and in May 2017 she undertook a brave adventure of her own. To cycle solo the 1,000 miles between John O’Groats to Lands End.

GDPR/Cyber Security - Chris Gough, Gordan Petrie, Ian Maxted (11.00am - 11.40am)

The Masterclass session sees the return of the Panel Q&A with this month's Masterclass being delivered by three experts during our Panel Q&A session entitled "GDPR/Cyber Security".

Chris Gough - More and more information (~230 billion emails a day!) are being stored online so it’s more important than ever to secure your data to ensure your company doesn’t become the next data-leakage news story.

Chris makes sure businesses don’t get hacked. He spent the last 15 years administering, securing and fine-tuning enterprise IT systems for many large organisations in a variety of sectors.

He now runs RAW IT, a company created to stop companies being hacked or losing data by improving technical systems and making staff more aware of the dangers of Cyber Security and how to protect against them.

Gordan Petrie - The breadth of experience Gordon has accumulated over 35+ years in the IT industry has developed a much broader approach to solving complex issues involving process, people and systems. Gordon combines strong relationship building with practical application to deliver outcomes which meet the requirements of the customers. The ability to collaborate internally and externally brings a fresh approach to any solution. The experience has been gained in multiple industries and with companies from start-up to global enterprises.

The vision is to give business owners the confidence to achieve what they need from IT, working with them to ensure that the people, processes and systems in the business are all in alignment. This is especially critical given the speed of change we see in today’s market. Analysis and problem-solving skills underpin the approach to deliver business IT that works and keep working.

These skills have been put to use in identifying a gap in the GDPR general approach to deliver practical support not only to gain compliance but also to focus on the opportunity that a major change like GDPR brings.

Ian Maxted - Ian blends over a decades worth of operational police experience with his knowledge of information security, to provide a unique set of capabilities spanning multiple functions of policing in Gloucestershire.

Maintaining strategic ownership for Cyber Defend and Develop activities, Ian and his team work to reduce demand and vulnerablility through collaboration with businesses, statutory agencies and academia and to mainstream digital principles into everyday safety initiatives.

GOODY BAGS

Everyone loves the goody bags, so I will be doing them again. I have already had some brilliant offers for goody bag fillers. If there is anything that you want to pop into the goody bags then please do get in touch. If you want to drop business cards/flyers/brochures into the hands of 50 business owners then you can do exactly that via the goody bags - I just ask for a small voluntary donation which goes to our charity partner, Allsorts Glos. (anything from £5 and up please folks). Genuine freebie gifts are 100% free of charge. But they must be FUN, EDIBLE or USEFUL !!
