INSPIRATION TALK - Caroline Aistrop - Sustainability…what has it ever done for us? (10.20am - 10.50am)

"Burning rainforests, melting glaciers, climate change – we’ve all heard how bad the situation is but why should businesses worry? Surely it’s the public and government’s responsibility to tackle the problems and being sustainable would cost a business money and put it at disadvantage?

Au contraire – Caroline Aistrop will explain how the survival of both people and businesses depends upon a healthy environment, and the significant commercial advantage offered by being greener.

A whistle-stop tour of:
- What has nature ever done for business?
- How it really is ‘love thy neighbour’
- the business boost from being greener

Take-away: Learn the surprising ways in which the natural environment sustains your business, understand how your business fits into the cycle of life, and discover just how much your customers will love you for being greener.

About Caroline Aistrop: A 34-year veteran of the environmental sector, Caroline is very pleased that she no longer has to lie at parties when asked what she does for a living! Since 1985, she’s been part of the movement bringing the environmental crisis to the public’s attention, and her work has included time as a producer at the BBC’s Natural History Unit, reporter on BBC Radio Glos’ Sony award-winning rural affairs programme, Press & PR Manager for The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, and chief executive of local environmental charity, Stroud Valleys Project. Caroline now helps companies and organisations to design attention-grabbing PR campaigns that shout about their green work – whether that’s embedding sustainability into their operations or offering the greener products and services that build a sustainable world for everyone.
