From the Oxford Brookes website: The construction of the John Henry Brookes Building (JHBB) at the Headington Campus is the most significant project in the history of Oxford Brookes University.
Set at the heart of our Headington campus, it has been designed for the future of higher education and is transforming the experiences of our students and the entire University’s community.
Inside the John Henry Brookes Building you will be wowed by the light and airy open spaces. The building has won a number of awards, including RIBA Regional and National Awards, Oxford Preservation Trust New Building Award and the award in the Student Experience category of the 2014 Education Estates Awards. The new building incorporates a number of sustainable features that have helped it achieve BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
David Burns is Technical Director at Ramboll, managing their Bristol office. The office has developed a specialization in arts and education projects. David has been the Director responsible for many award winning projects including Oxstalls Campus, University of Gloucestershire, Oxford Brookes, Gipsy Lane Campus, Lee Building, Ralph Allen School and Haven Point Leisure Centre, South Shields.
The presentation will be about the structural challenges and achievements of the building.
