Event description

Description

Training designed for trade union officials, organisers and stewards by specialist employment lawyers Thompsons Solicitors.

Zero hours contracts, bogus self-employment, trial shifts, unpaid wages and unpaid holiday pay are rife amongst Scotland’s workplaces.

This session will cover the current protections available for workers in precarious work, a chance to learn new skills about how to collectively organise in this environment and the opportunity to contribute to a change in the law.

Chris Stephens MP will be joining us to discuss his Workers Rights Private Members Bill and is very keen to hear how the law could be changed to make it fairer for worker.

There will be an opportunity for questions and Thompsons’ lawyers will be available before and after the event to answer any questions.

Refreshments and drinks will be following the training.
