Description

We warmly invite student representatives – Student Council, Year Reps, School Reps, EUSA and student society reps – teaching staff, researchers and other academic-related colleagues, to participate in an event on how we can work together to further incorporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability in Learning and Teaching at Edinburgh.

The aim of this event is to seek contributions in evolving the SRS vision for the University:

  • as a learning community informed about and taking action on ethical and sustainability issues
  • recognised globally as a leading Socially Responsible University.

Friday 21st November, 11 for 11.30am – 3.30pm with buffet lunch provided.

The event will involve a lively mix of thought-provoking presentations, small group discussions and plenary debate.

In the morning, participants will hear about and discuss examples of learning and teaching initiatives linked to this agenda from the University of Edinburgh and more globally.

In the afternoon, participants will help formulate long-term goals for the University on Social Responsibility and Sustainability in Learning and Teaching.

This forum is part of a series of events to inform the development of the University’s Social Responsibility and Sustainability Strategy 2010-20. Earlier events focussed on campus operational issues, such as energy, waste, travel and estate development.
