Equipping entrepreneurs for all-in careers for Jesus

In partnership with Missional Labs, Fruitful Work, and Hope City Church Edinburgh

What’s this all about?

Entrepreneurial skills - creativity, vision, risk-taking - are some of the most influential forces shaping the world today. As Christians, we need to think deeply about how to steward those skills not just for success, but for Kingdom impact.

This retreat will explore three key questions:

  • What is missional entrepreneurship?
  • How can we use our entrepreneurial skills to make disciples?
  • And how should we approach the financial upside that may come with startups?

Whether you’re already building something or just beginning to dream, this is a space to explore what it looks like to create for God’s glory.

Who is this for?

This retreat is for students with entrepreneurial instincts, whether you’ve already started something or just feel the pull to one day, and for recent graduates (class of 2022 or later). It’s for those who want to think deeply about how their calling to build can be used for Jesus.

What to expect

  • Teaching, workshops and discussions with Frog Orr-Ewing and Olly Perkins on using entrepreneurship for disciple-making
  • A Diary of a CEO style interview with Matt Round
  • A creative hackathon to develop and pitch a missional startup idea
  • Space to connect deeply with other entrepreneurial Christians
  • Worship together at Hope City Church on Sunday morning, followed by a final lunch to wrap up and reflect as a group.

The retreat will be hosted at Humbie House, Kirkliston (12 minutes from Edinburgh Airport, with easy rail and air connections). We’re incredibly grateful to Matt Round for generously opening up his home for this event. Accommodation will be simple, expect airbeds and bunk beds.
