About this event

Book now to take part in one of our online Student presentation sessions where your students will share their Partnership Grants project work with Fellows of the Royal Society and representatives engaged with the scheme.

These sessions will be an opportunity for the young people involved in your project to develop their communication skills as well as meeting some of the UK’s most eminent scientists.

  • What the sessions involve

During these informal events students at primary or secondary level will be asked to give a short (5 minute) group oral presentation about the project work they have completed so far (or are planning on undertaking if towards the start of their project).

They will then take part in a short Q&A session with the Fellows, scientists and other schools present.

  • General logistics

The sessions will take place via Microsoft Teams and will last 1 hour in total. The exact dates and times for each session can be found by clicking the ‘register’ button.

The link to access the session via Teams will be sent to participants a few days before the session and again on the day of the session.

Students taking part will need to be supervised in person by a teacher at all times. Guidance about the session format and what to prepare will be provided in advance, but preparation has been kept to a minimum and should not be onerous. Schools will be asked to join a 15 minute technical test the week before the session to check their camera, sound and to make sure they are prepared for the event. This will be arranged with each school at a time to best suit them.

Prior to the event you will be asked to read the Royal Society’s Acceptable Use Policy and Safeguarding contributor brief (which will be sent in advance).

Sessions are available for booking in the Autumn term 2022 and bookings close for each session at least 2 weeks in advance. Please note: if spaces in the sessions for the term become limited, priority will be given to schools who have not taken part in a student presentation before or may find it difficult to attend future in-person events in London due to travel.
