The CULTURE-GAPS in STEM workshop series is designed to address attainment gaps and structural inequities in STEM education by developing inclusive learning environments, amplifying student voices, and driving systemic change. Through a series of participatory discussions, expert insights, themed student-led focus groups and co-creation sessions, these workshops will explore barriers to success, examine inequalities in student representation, and integrate sustainability principles into educational practices.
Each session will bring together educators, students, and external partners to identify challenges and collaboratively design solutions that enhance student experience, representation, and outcomes in STEM. The insights gained will inform evidence-based strategies to support underrepresented groups, ensuring that all students—regardless of background—have equitable opportunities to thrive academically and professionally.
This initiative builds on ongoing research into attainment disparities and aims to shape institutional change through data-driven interventions, inclusive curriculum design, and strengthened student-staff partnerships.
