Welcome to the 2022 Student Sustainability Research Conference hosted by the University of Leeds Sustainability Service!
About this event
Welcome to this year’s Student Sustainability Research Conference.
The SSRC is now in its sixth year, with sustainability-based interdisciplinary research being presented from faculties across the University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, and Leeds Arts University.
The theme of this year's conference is 'Together for Our Planet', with a focus on how research from across Leeds is helping address the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action, which is intrinsically linked to all other SDGs. Climate Action was the focus of last year's COP26 summit, and the driving force behind the University of Leeds Climate Plan.
The conference will be opened by Lynda Simmons, Interim Director of Sustainability at the University of Leeds, followed by a series of live and pre-recorded talks throughout the day. It will be closed with a keynote speech by Professor Piers Forster, Director of the Priestley International Centre for Climate.
You can view the full schedule and presenter profiles on our website - please note the schedule is subject to change. Sessions will be recorded and uploaded to our website. We will also be offering soup and smoothies from the Leeds Beckett SU based group, Eco-Soup, who produce delicious vegan food from fruit and veg that would otherwise have gone to waste.
