Description

Space Weather of the Heliosphere - IAU Symposium 335

Student Workshops Day and Poster Competition on “Space Weather”

We invite schools across Devon to attend workshops and to enter our space weather poster competition.

Event information

We invite 40 Year 7-9 and 40 Year 10-12 students from local schools to attend a day of workshops at the University of Exeter on the theme of “Space Weather”. Workshops will be delivered by Dr Gabrielle Provan, a space physicist from the University of Leicester and Dr Maria Weber, an astrophysicist from the University of Exeter. We will allocate places to schools on a first-come first-served basis and initially we ask that each school brings no more than 20 students.

We invite schools to enter our poster competition. Students can work in groups (of maximum size 5 students) and will present their posters on the 17th of July to be judged by academics at the IAU Symposium on Space Weather organised in the same week at the University of Exeter. Prizes will be awarded in the two age categories.
