'Students for Global Health: Where Do We Go from Here?' Short Course
Wed, 15 Feb 2017, 18:45 – Wed, 22 Mar 2017, 21:45 GMT
Welcome to Bristol’s very first global health short course!
We are incredibly excited to bring to you a jam-packed 6 week series of talks and workshops covering some of the most pressing areas of global health in the world today, to engage & change. We’ve arranged some fantastic speakers to come and raise awareness and understanding about these critical issues, but we know that just learning about what’s wrong with the world can make us feel so powerless and overwhelmed - so the second half of each session will focus on how we can forward: where do we go from here?
-The Refugee Crisis: 15/02. Venue: LT2 Arts Complex (enter via 3-5 Woodland Road)
-Global Child Health: 22/02. Venue: Merchant Venturers Building
-Gender and Mental Health: 01/03. Venue: TBC
-Access to Medicines: 08/03. Venue: TBC
-Homelessness in Bristol: 15/03. Venue: TBC
-Climate Change: 22/03. Venue: TBC
These are free events and everybody is welcome. We want to create a space to better understand the issues we face and together establish the best way forward so we need you all! For the portfolio/CV savvy amongst you attendance at 4 of the 6 will get you a certificate signed by the global health department at Bristol that you can use to prove your commitment to making the world a better place!
We are absolutely buzzing about the potential of this series and can’t wait to have you all part of it. Spread the word and get involved.
Peace and love.
