The London Alumni Chapter of Hult International Business School would like to invite you to the first Guest Speaker event of 2015 with Derek White, Barclays Chief Design and Digital Officer. The event will take place at Hult House at 18:30, please arrive at 18:15 to allow for a prompt start. The topic of the evening will be ‘Embrace or be disrupted’ and Derek will talk about how technology is changing everything in the financial service industry, the challenges that mainstream banks are facing in competing with new players such as Tech companies and what is like to drive disruptive innovation in an organisation like Barclays. The event will be followed by a reception.
Derek White is an MBA from the Wharton and joined Barclays in 2004 through the acquisition of Juniper Bank (now Barclaycard US), where he was an early member of the start-up Internet bank and credit card issuer. Derek’s passion for innovating and growing businesses began in college when he started a collegiate event marketing company.
As Design and Digital Officer for Barclays. Derek is responsible for translating customer insights into execution and creating, developing and delivering outstanding customer experiences that pave the way for Barclays to become the ‘Go-To’ bank”.
He is on the steering committee of the Big Innovation Centre, which aims to make the UK a global open innovation hub, to build a world-class innovation ecosystem, and re-balance and grow the UK economy
