Working from outdoor-inspired studio setups—featuring flowers, patterned fabrics, and linens — this course invites you to create expressive floral and landscape paintings in a warm, weatherproof environment. You'll develop key skills in observation, mark-making, and composition through colour, shape, and form. Projects will be inspired by artists such as Claude Monet, Berthe Morisot, Joan Mitchell, and Hayley Barker. A selection of art books will be available throughout the course, offering personal reference points and artist-led inspiration to support your work. This hands-on course balances structured painting exercises with open-ended experimentation. You’ll be encouraged to explore different materials, take creative risks, and build your confidence as a painter. Whether you're looking to loosen up your style or deepen your understanding of composition, this course offers space for growth.
