This learning event and book launch is aimed at those who are participants, companions, supporters or those who are interested in a New Monastic mission model of ecclesial community or Church.
The day will explore:
- the implications of our post-secular context, regarding the challenge of being human, justice, spirituality and relevant forms of Christian community.
- the ancient tradition of the religious life as exampled through Western Christianity as Nuns, Monks and Friars.
- the place, purpose and charism of New Monasticism in the UK.
The day will be led by Ian Mobsby, an Ordained Anglican Missioner and founding member of the Moot Community, (A New Monastic Community of the CofE based at the Guild Church of St Mary Aldermary in the City of London, UK).
This learning event will also be one of the book launch events for the new book Ian Mobsby and Mark Berry have co-authored called "A New Monastic Handbook" by Canterbury Press, so please do consider buying a copy of the book.
This training day is aimed at Christians who are exploring models of missional communities, those who are passionate about contemplative approaches to prayer and action, diocesan missioners and those interested in forms of Christian spirituality and community.
