About this event

This is a 50 minute study skills sessions, facilitated by a Study Skills Tutor who will help students, who know or think they have dyslexia, to improve their existing academic skills and acquire new ones. Each session will focus on specific aspects of writing or speaking skills and aim to help students develop expertise and confidence in communicating in an academic context, skills which are transferable to the workplace.

Each group will run with a maximum of six students per session, bookable online and will be delivered remotely via Teams.

  • What is academic style? Clear / concise / focussed / structured / backed up by evidence
  • Defining purpose
  • Structure
  • Using evidence
  • Tips for writing concisely
  • Balance
  • Tense and voice
