Join Deputy Head of Recruitment and Admissions Wendy Hisbent and learn about the wide variety of courses on offer at University of Edinburgh, across science, technology, engineering and maths subjects. Find out key admissions information and hear about what makes studying STEM at Edinburgh unique, from world-class facilities to cutting-edge research.


Wendy studied history at the University of Edinburgh, and then held various positions within the Higher Education sector, and the Scottish and UK Governments. She is currently Deputy Head of Recruitment and Admissions in the College of Science and Engineering, and has been with the University for 8 years. She loves all things dance related having trained as a professional dancer, and she teaches ballet on a voluntary basis for two hours per week.

By leveraging the passion and expertise of STEM professionals and researchers, In2scienceUK gives A-Level students an opportunity to gain insight into the STEM sector as well as the knowledge and confidence to progress to university. In addition to running an award-winning summer programme which transitioned to a virtual format in 2020 in response to Covid-19, they run events and workshops throughout the year to provide ongoing support to In2scienceUK students and alumni.
