Style: In Defence of... No Style
Wed 29 March 2017, 19:00 – 20:00 BST
A series of talks looking at style. In this fifth talk, architect Amin Taha defends 'No Style'.
What do we mean by style? Has it ever been a good thing? Is style as a critical engagement a thing of the past? Here Amin Taha champions the case for ‘no style’, arguing that style has stifled innovation and led to one derivation after another.
Style: In Defence of... is a series of talks at the Soane Museum examining the content and context of style. Across six talks, in partnership with Machine Books and Future Cities Project, leading experts defend a style, confronting us with new ideas for contemplation and critique. Each talk lasts 30 minutes, followed by an audience discussion.
